Pattern of Abstraction

The process of Abstraction means to identify and eliminate various complex features from the medium, so that the audience can now emphasize on one (or few) other features that they generally, either neglect, or take for granted. It is most prominent in Art. Example:

Loneliness

Loneliness, a simple browser based game, uses simple squares to represent both the player and crowds. By using such elementary shapes, it directs the players’ attention towards their underlying message, which is, the impact of loneliness on individuals.
